I don't have any mobility/comfort issues personally. Therefore, people with big legs (and behinds ) could have mobility issues. They fit fine in the waist but the Insprits have a rather high-crotch, meaning you have to wear them low in order to fit a cup (however, Inspirits were intended to be worn high, somewhere below the belly button, go figure). I'am somewhere between 30 and 32 usually and I got the large ones. The waistband is partially elastic so a snug fit isn't a problem. Shorts are held in place by a velcro fly and a drawstring plus the unique Inspirit loophole/fastener/drawstring system (nothing complicated). The shorts themselves are very light (I am talking HCK light for those who have HCKs) which makes them really unintrusive and a joy to wear. Material-wise, Spec1s are 100% polyester (unlike Spec2s which are a cotton/polyester blend, personally I find Spec1s to be of a much nicer material). I was looking for a pair of camo shorts for a while and finally settled for Inspirts because I really liked their pattern and color (rather low-key and "natural" looking"). However, I was somewhat disappointed with the design of both Grill and Bone and decided to order another pair of Inpsirits instead (I already have a pair of Spec Model2 Black). I was waiting with high hopes for the new Nogi line before placing an order for a new pair of shorts. Add excellent shipping rates and speed to that and you have a winner! They have nice T-shirts for casual wear, and great equipment for training. There is no spoon.Slowly but surely, Inspirit is becoming one of my favorite MMA related brands. In conclusion, get this rubber if you use a euro/jap rubber and don't like paying $30+. When I get better, I'll just switch blades but keep the rubber. I'm planning to keep this rubber for a long time. Definitely playable without glue if you have the technique (I'm working on it.).Īm I goint to buy this again? Absolutely. Without glue, the rubber has less spin, a softer click, but that's about it. The rubber gained a lot of spin wit only one layer of speed glue, even though it has a firm sponge. Inspirit is approved in the US, but otherwise ask Cole. Only if you're a $40 rubber manufacturer. Speedy, so we can get a proper review of it :) When you do, the rubber makes an incredibly loud click (louder than Sriver El, Plasma 380 or LKT glued)ġ. Relooping topspin is a dream, even with the whippy Primo. (This keeps them from getting smashed as regularly). Underspin loops have a nice low trajectory and are faster than with my softer rubbers. That is, I don't feel like I need to hold back or delicately contact the ball, be it underspin or top. Smashing was easier than with any other rubber I've tried, even though it has a 2.3 mm sponge.ĥ. Speedglue didn't seem to affect the speed of this one. Pushing was fine and I noriced only a little difference in my underspin serves (compared to Palio CJ8000's super spinniness).Ĥ. Throw angle felt very predictable on fast swings. I'm not an expert here, but I know it's lower than LKT XT or Palio CJ8000. Excellent quality of printing, topsheet color, and sponge.ģ. 42 degree and 40 degree sponges feel similar (firm), closer to 40 than 42. Only a hint of tackiness from the protective sheet that it comes with. Similar to Goldway Destroyer on 2.0 sponge.Ģ. Reasonably light but not ridiculously so like LKT XT. I've never played as well with it as I have with inspirit on it.ġ. I used this on the Butterfly Primorac Off-, the ubiquitous beginner blade that's medium hard and very flexible. I'm very happy to report that after 5 hours of play, it would appear that Dawei has matched the the quality and performance of Japanese/Euro rubbers. Price: US $16, bought from Cole Ely, This really is the one. Specs: 2.3 mm red 42 deg on fh, 2.3 mm black 40 deg (The sponge comes in many thicknesses and degrees) Review of Dawei Inspirit (Speedy's Format)ĭisclaimer: Reviewer is not 2000, has not owned 20 different rubbers, and is very stingy.
